Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has made a phone call to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Confirming the matter, Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina talked to Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday afternoon and discussed various issues of the two countries.
“Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli sought 50,000 tonnes of fertilizer from Bangladesh,” said Ihsanul Karim.
In response, he said, the Bangladesh premier gave her consent in this regard.
During the 20-minute telephonic conversation, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also assured her Nepalese counterpart of providing rail transit to Nepal.
The Nepalese premier expressed gratitude to his Bangladesh counterpart in this connection.
Karim said the two leaders laid emphasis on further bolstering bilateral relations and cooperation in various sectors.
They hoped that the preferential trade agreement (PTA) between the two nations would be signed to boost trade and commerce.
Sheikh Hasina congratulated Sharma Oli for successfully combating the novel coronavirus in his country, the press secretary added.
