Hundreds of Saudi returnees — stranded in the country for over seven months due to the pandemic – have called off their demonstration.
They decided to give in at 3:45 pm on Sunday after police persuaded them to clear off roads for smooth running of vehicles.
The migrants staged demonstration in front of Saudi Airlines office at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital demanding tickets for returning to their workplaces in Gulf country.
At one stage, the agitated expats have broken the main gate of the hotel.
The Saudi returnees have been demonstrating since September 16 for their return tickets. Visas of many of them have already expired.
