United States (US) Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl R Miller on Thursday called on Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives (LGRD) Minister Tazul Islam at his office at the secretariat in the capital.
During his courtesy visit, the US ambassador expressed the interest of the US to work in public health sector under ‘Centres for Disease Control and Prevention’ in municipalities and City Corporations of Bangladesh.
Welcoming the proposal of the ambassador LGRD Minister Tazul said, “Alongside their own country, the US is working with the programme of public health in Singapore, Philippines and some Europeans countries. They are interested in working in Bangladesh with the same model and with same ideology.”
The duo also discussed some bilateral issues during the meeting.
The ambassador praised the activities of Bangladesh government to tackle Covid-19, said a press release.
